The Best Intermediate Via Ferrata In The Écrins, Briançon and Queyras.

With 26 Via ferrata in the Écrins, Briançon and Queyras area, there is plenty to go at, below I have listed the routes that fall into the Blue grade range which is the intermediate level for via ferrata.

1) Villar D'Aréne

A fantastic route in a stunning location, following a line though the centre of the cliff, there are a few tough moves near the top, but defiantly a good intermediate route.

2) Rocher Blanc Facile

Using the Cable car to get up to this route ensures that the view are amazing, a route that is perched high in the mountains.

3) La Colombier - Les Vigneaux

One of the most popular routes in the area, with good reason it gains height fast as it climbs this epic cliff face.

4) Gorge D'Ailefroide - Pelvoux

The first route you come to in the Ailefroide Gorge is a mix of bridges and traversing on rock and staples, an absolute classic, and if that was to easy there is a black route straight after it to get your teeth in to.

5) Pra Premier

This routes gives you options, you can complete it on a blue route to the top or you can try starting or finishing on a red section.

6) Fort Queyras

This route traverses the gorge in a great location underneath the famous Chateau Queyras.

7)Rochers De La Clapiére

Again this route is split into two, there is a blue route that can be done on its own or as you near the top you can finish up a red route, both give great views over the Celiac village.

8) Marcellians

This is a short route that starts on a blue route and then joins a green route, it is possible to do just the green, but that would be a very short route and it is better to think of it as a blue route.
