Rather than one ski line, this description is going to be for the 3 couloirs on the Crête des Granges above Terre Rouge village. 90% of the route is the same for all the routes so it makes sense to describe them together.   You can then decide on the approach which looks best or if you have the legs do all three. They are all about the same grade. Please check out the image with a overview of the couloirs as it makes more sense when you see it. Also the GPX is for couloir 1.

Description

From the parking just below the village near the bridge walk through the village to a sharp lefthand bend and some fields - put your skis on here. Follow the Ravin des Rouilles through a tight gorge, then cross a forest road and continue into the Ravin de Chabrelle. It is steep sided in places so some care is needed. At the end of the ravin the trees open up, from here you should see the crête in front of you, on the left is the main couloir (number 1) it’s obvious and easy to see on the map. Climb the couloir and at the top go left to the summit. To the right of this is a hidden middle line (couloir 2) cut across the face and start to climb towards some rocks, the way looks to be blocked but as you climb there is a couloir that leads up and left to the ridge at the 2649m high point marked on the map. Lastly is the right line (couloir 3), keep traversing right and climb up the snowy face thats south east facing (different to the rest of the crête). At the top bear right and you will find the start of the couloir. You should have been able to spot this on the way through the trees, to help you find it.

Descent:

For the couloir’s 1 and 2, you just ski back down the lines you went up. Once out of the couloir’s and steeper ground follow the ravins back. For couloir 3 descend the couloir and then keep going north. At some point you need to descend back to the ravin, but you can easily pick your line through the trees to do this.  Be aware that the small gorge you came though at the start can be quite rocky so care is needed if you plan to ski it.
