A nice line in a popular valley with easy access.

Description

Park just before the little bridge.

It’s normally possible to put your skins on just after the bridge, then head up and traverse into the Vallon du Fontenil.

Once in the valley follow it up. This is also the approach for the very popular ski tour of les Jumelles sud so there is normally a trace in. Once you get above the tree line you should see the point de l’Étendard on your left,  make the short climb to a longer slope that leads up to a narrowing in some rocks, climb to that narrowing and up the gap. Just after this there is a rock in the middle that splits the slope, we went to the right as you look up. As you climb up and past the the rock in the middle you can start to head left and traverse to the ridge, and from there the summit.

Descent -

For the descent ski back down the way you came up. As you come back down to the tree line you can head ski skiers left which is normally in the sun or stay skiers right to get more shade and trees.
