A great couloir, but it is a long way in to reach it.

Description

From the parking at Puy Chalvin, head through the village and pick up a footpath that leads up to the forest road to les Combes. Follow the road through les Combes and to the end of the road, there is a metal barrier down (sometimes just below the snow level). Head towards Lac des Partias, from here you have a choice either head up the ravin de Jafaret or up the steeper more direct slopes towards Rocher Bouchard.

Traverse under the Rocher Bouchard until you see the north couloir (a big snow cone narrowing near the top). Climb the couloir to the summit.

Descent

Ski the couloir, as you come to the bottom you can turn skiers right and the best line is down the steeper slopes to the lac keeping height for the flatter sections. But it is possible to ski the ravin de Jaferet also. Its a nice ski back through the trees to the forest road, then its a bit of poling and trying to keep your speed up to get back to Puy Calvin and the parking
