A shortish walk with a rock scramble, that give stunning views of the lake and high Écrins
Description:
From the le pont de l’alpe take the track leading east and head up past the waterfall, stay on the main track until the hamlet of Alpe du Lauzet. From here take the track north across the bridge, it heads up a small valley, and gets steeper towards the end with a switch back path leading to a rocky section. The rock section is steep and has chain to hold on to help you climb it.
At the top of the chains you are at a small col with impressive views either side. Follow the path down to the grand lac and along its side, at the end of the lac the path climbs and cuts back on itself to take you to a col near the north end of the arrete de la Bruyere.
From here head east then south following the path back to the Alpes de Lauzet, and then back down the start of the path to le pont de l’alpe.
